What is CNCF and Why Should you know About?

CNCF stands for Cloud Native Computing Foundation is an Organization which was established in 2015 which now serves as vendor-neutral home for many growing opensource projects like Kubernetes , containerd and Helm.

You can see all the opensource projects that's comes under the umbrella of CNCF by visiting CNCF Landscape and from there you can choose projects that's excites you and you would love to contribute to them. You can contact the maintainers if u have some queries and go through their documentations to know more about the projects. They have a very big and helpful community , you can ask you questions in public and get mentored by amazing folks there.

What is CNCF Glossary?

The Cloud Native Glossary is a project led by the CNCF Business Value Subcommittee (BVS). Its goal is to explain cloud native concepts in clear and simple language without requiring any previous technical knowledge.

How to contribute to the CNCF Glossary?

Everybody is invited to suggest changes , addition and the improvements to the Cloud Native Glossary. This Glossary provides a vendor-neutral platform to organize a shared vocabulary around cloud native technologies. Contributions are welcome from all participants who abide by the project’s purpose and charter.

Anyone who like to make contribution to the glossary can submit a issue or make the pull request . Everyone is requested to follow the Style Guide read the How to Contribute Documentation and join the #glossary channel on the Slack . Those who want to translate the glossary terms in their native language can join #glossary-localizations channel. You can also contact the projects maintainers also if u had some doubts regarding the glossary or contributions.
